Tarzan y su Calzon

TARZAN Y SU CALZON
Current mood: confused
Category: Life
Asi me siento.

Never Alone

Never alone
Current mood:
sleepy
Category:
Religion and Philosophy
I was crying so hard one day.  I could not understand how my mom could have done this to me.  I was in the middle of the playground... surrounded by kids that I had never seen before, and I felt alone.  I could not understand why the person that I loved, and that I thought loved me the most, could have left me here... Someone came by and said... "Susana, come on, class is about to start... Welcome to your first day of school."  I was only a little girl, lacking an eternal perception of things and life.
God does the same with us.  He loves us more than we will ever understand with our "human" minds.  Everything our eyes can see, our hands can touch, our mind can think of... was created by Him, and created for us.  He loves us very much and the reason why he sent us here... to what seems a lonely, sad place called Earth... is because he wants us to progress.  He wants us to learn.  He wants us to get prepared for eternity.
Just like I had no clue what school was about or why I was there to begin with... we're here on this planet clueless about why it is so important that we experience this.  It might seem like a long time to live... 70 maybe 80 years... but compared to eternity.... it's nothing.
Even if my mom would have set down with me and explained that I needed to go to school to learn the things that I needed to learn to be successful in life, I would not have understood her completely.  God does want us to understand why we're here.  And He has given us the information, but we're blinded by the things of this world and don't completely grasp the meaning of it all.
We're not here to learn how to live without God.  We're actually here TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE WITH GOD, THROUGH FAITH.  That's the real lesson.
Yes, if you stop loving God your spirit will die.  But when you love God, is when you're spiritually born.  Your spirit is young, never doubt about God's love for you.  We're nothing without him.
I know how hard it is to live in this life, and keep in mind the whispers of the spirit.  But I can tell you that when you pray, when you read, and when you meditate these things... they stay in your heart forever.

I wrote this as a response to my friend Axel I.'s blog.  I recommend his blog to everybody because it's awakening, sad, deep, interesting, intriguing, inspiring, tasteful, passionate.  All in one, he's a very good writer, a very good photographer.  He makes me think...and write.  (Thanks Axel).

What I Really Want

Ok, we don't care so much about your skin as much as we care about your attitude towards us.
Guys, you can tell when we like you and when we don't.  Please, if you know we don't like you... don't push it.  You will only make us unconfortable and push us farther away.  If you know we don't like you, try to become our friend, but a real friend with no hidden intentions, because we can tell when you're using the whole "friend" thing to get what you want.    Or just move on and leave us alone.
Don't feel offended and don't take it personal... We all deserve the right to like whomever we want.  We are all guilty of saying no to somebody that we don't feel attracted to.  Maybe you've got personality, and that's good... but if there's no physical attraction it will just not work... we all know it, and it's not that we're superficial, it's just that we're human.
But if we do like you and accept a date...
If you know you're hot and sexy that's COOL.  But it takes a lot more than that to please a woman.  Yes maybe you're tall and handsome, but can you carry on a good intelligent conversation.  Can you teach me something? (outside of the bedroom), Can I teach you something?  Are you available?  We don't just want sex... we want something more.  Something that NOT A LOT OF GUYS are able to provide: commitment, security, trust, loyalty, respect, honesty, future...
We want to be appreciated and valued.  We like when you are inquisitive because you show that you care about us and are interested in learning more about what we're all about.  If a guy is only interested talking about himself and all he's done and been through, it's turn-off.
When you ask questions, ask the right ones.  We don't want to talk about something that is interesting just to us... so don't pretend like you want to know about our hair, skin care, clothing, etc.  Ask about our life and  our experiences, and yes, we're emotional but we also like to talk about logic stuff.  We want to be able to say what we know, what we're educated on, and what we're interested in.
If you are going to say something that we have not asked you, it's ok... as long as you follow it with a question... or maybe I should say... as long as you include us in your conversation and not make it a monologue.
Maybe many girls do, but I don't really care about the type of car you drive, or sports.  I mean yes, I can hear about the sports you like, what you play, what you watch, your team, but don't make it lengthy and detailed because I don't know about sports, and I really don't care to learn.
If you've tried cold reading and it has worked, good for you.  I don't really appreciate a guy pretending to know me and "safe guessing" everything about me.  It's just stupid.  I rather have a nice conversation with somebody who will ASK me questions to better get to know me... instead of just trying to be a show off and make statements about me without even knowing my name, or my background.  It's not sexy (at least to me it's not).
Honestly, I do care to know what you do for a living, and the education you've got.  I'm not a gold digger... but if I'm to consider something serious with you, I would love to feel secure and protected by -not necessarily a wealthy- but a hard-working, responsible man.  But please don't brag about your accomplishments as if you were the only one available with high achievements.  If you have not achieved your goals, don't get discouraged... I also admire people who have dreams, goals and plans to achieve them.  We all need some time and we all deserve a chance.
I don't want to know every little thing about your past relationships... but come on, let's be honest... we do care to know about those important relationships you've been involved in.  If you're capable of commiting yourself to one person, we value that.  But don't sit there and talk for hours about your ex and show us that you're not over her and you're just wasting our time.
It's okay to meet different people and get to know different girls before you make a decision.  But the moment you say you want something more with one person, and you want a kiss, some more, or if you actually do mention the word "relationship" then you better stop looking around.
The most important thing I want is a guy to be totally HONEST.   I would rather be with a guy who can say, "You know what, I've had fun with you and I want to go out again with you to get to know you more, but I want to take things slow and have my space to go out with other friends and maybe other girls"  than have a guy say "Do you believe in love at first sight?  I think we're meant for each other, you're the one for me."  This is good for a soap opera but it's not genuine and honest.
We like sense of humor.  We don't like fake, trying-to-hard sense of humor.  That's just pathetic.  If you lack of something, then look for something else in your personality that can make up for that, because we all are not perfect and we need to do this.  We all have different qualities, but we can't try so hard to be something that we're not.  If you're not funny, you are probably smart, and we like that too.  Or if you're funny and not too smart, then don't try to be the opposite.
We are all about girl power and independence, but we still expect good manners from the men.  You don't have to open the door for us, if you're not feeling it, but you need to be respectful, appropriate, polite.
Is this too much to ask? Not really.  It's just many words to say basic stuff that you might have already known.
Do you think I'm forgettin about what guys want?
Most men want an intelligent women who at the same time can be submissive.  They expect loyalty and respect.  Men want a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets, someone who can deliver in the bedroom.  They want someone who will give them their space; to be able to play their sports, go out with their friends, who will not expect them to talk as much as they do.   Men look for a woman who can take care of the home and the kids, although they might say something like "I know how to cook and I will help out" but in the back of their minds, they don't function like this, they don't like to do the housekeeping.  They want someone sexy and cute, with brains.
So yes we know what we need to do, but we won't do it until you are willing to do the same.  It's a vicious cycle.  It's about two, it's about commitment.

New Year

I can't even remember what my new year's resolution was for this year that flew by so quickly.  This probably means that I didn't achieve it.  In fact, I think 2006 was a rough year for me, there was too much going on.  I lost more than I gained...and it sucks 'cause I'm not talking about weight.  I'm happy to have another chance, to start over and to learn from whatever will come up on my way...again.

I hope that all of you, whoever's reading this, have a happy new year 2007 and that you get a chance to make your goals happen.  One thing that I will do differently this new years' is that I will write down what I want to accomplish next year.  I will try to revisit this list of things every day and stick to my plan.  It's hard, but it's possible.

May all your dreams come true; but before that happens, turn your dream into a goal, then your goal into a plan, then your plan into action, and good luck!

Men

MEN 101
Current mood: contemplative
A women's greatest challange is to understand men.  There's a time in a women's life where it's better to give up on the idea of making sense of how men think and act.  This is what I'm going through right now.
I got up this morning and thought... what is wrong with him?.  Here's more of my unorganized thoughts about them...
My dear readers, the main lesson I've learned from men is that we'll never completely understand them, but ironically, they are so predictible and this leaves us with a great advantage.
I'm no feminist, but in my relationship bible you'll find teachings from Patricia Evans and Susan Forward.  Thanks to the aid of their books I've learned about certain fases of a man's obsession when you try to leave them.
KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER...
1. Men who love ACT... not re-act.
     - A man who loves you nourishes the relationship by taking care of  you.  He will want to serve, protect, and respect you without an external reason.  A man who is romantic, or becomes respectful and caring... as a result of your rejection, your indifference or your break up is just in a "worm phase."  (more on this by request)
2. Men NEED to control
     - Just as our body needs water, men need to control.  We can't ignore the fact that without men's ambition for power we would not stand where we stand  today technologically and economically speaking.  Unfortunately, not every man who walks in this planet gets to experience the feeling of power and fulfillment through achievements in these fields; instead, some men redirect their ambition for power over women.  Why? because we are emotionally vulnerable beings.  These men are not strong enough to build their character and transform this need to control into something constructive... like becoming a CEO, manager, succeed in any career or profession or... the most important of all GAIN POWER OVER THEMSELVES.
These men, that have yet to "find themselves" will become "prince charming" as a result of their loss of control over your feelings.  Especially for women, this is a very important phase to recognize, because here's  when we believe the biggest lie of all -a lie that even him will believe- that he loves us.
This is probably getting too complicated, even to me... cause I think quicker than I can type or express myself.  But I hope this next analogy helps us all understand love a little better.
Have you been to Niagara falls? I haven't.  I have seen them in videos and pictures...and here's my impression.
What amazes me the most, is the amount of water that keeps falling down.  Every single second, minute, night and day, never stopping, never taking a break.  Real love is like this.  Yes, there's rocks along the way.  Rocks are harder than water, but water is strong, it polishes the stones... over the years.  Water is not stopped by the rocks.  Water keeps moving forward... Love is never ending.  Eternal.

To Lie or Not to Lie

To Lie or Not to Lie
Current mood:
geeky
Okay, here's my dilemma.
I'm a terrible liar.
Once upon a rainly day, during Psychology class, bored as usual, the teacher caught my attention when he started talking about being able to read peoples' minds.  Since he did not know the actual trick to it (duh, most of us are humans), he gave us an idea by mentioning the main characteristic of liars. He mentioned that liars usually look down or sideways while talking (yes, little things like these amaze me). So I ponder...
If people are consciously aware of this, they will not do it; specially if they're know they're being doubted.  But let's not forget the difference between the conscious and pre-conscious.  (Pre-conscious is where memories are stored, facts that can be brought up to the conscious.  The conscious is what's actually on their mind at the moment, the current thoughts, you may say).  So we can all be good liars (if we bring this up to our conscious) by keeping our eyes in place when lying....... we can all be bad liars (by leaving this in the pre-conscious) and forgetting this info, and unconsciously moving our eyes down when we lie....... or we can be great liar tellers (by keeping this info in our conscious, and not let the other person know they're being tested).... so yes, pretend everything's ok... (here starts the lying again). LOL this is confusing already right?
I just thought I'd share this much with you all.  To continue with my issue, I have just been thinking that sometimes lying is a lot easier than not lying.
I feel very unconfortable, guilty, I think I'm being watched...set up, paranoia maybe.  My hands start to get warm, and eventually sweat.  My heart starts beating a little faster than normal. My eyes look elsewhere...but the main thing I do, is smile.  Yes, a weird/funny smile appears out of nowhere exposing me.  So that's why I can't do it.
But why do people who do it get away with it? How do we become masters of lying? Is this another weapon against the shit life puts us through.  Is this a defense mechanism.  Is it okay to do in certain situations?
Should I lie or should I not?
I just wrote a letter to one of my favorite liars, telling him how sad it was to know that he thought so low of himself that he had to fake being someone else.  That it did not matter how good he was at lying, he would always be a LOSER for not being happy with whom he was.  That he could lie to the world but not to himself.  That when he watched himself in the mirror he would know that everything he had was just an illusion.  Because people around him would love the "one" created, and not the real him.
Isn't this depressing?
I think, to end my blog... that my dilemma has been solved by my own meditation on this fact.  I will stay an honest girl... for the sake of my happiness.  I read recently on someone's myspace quote that....
"IT'S BETTER TO BE HATED FOR WHAT I AM, THAN LOVED FOR WHAT I'M NOT"
Totally agree!
Your honest friend,
Susana

BTW, now that I'll start being totally honest, YOU GUYS ALL SUCK!!! LOL JUST KIDDING.
