Love Is Simple

Love is Simple
Relationships… not a subject I can claim to know much about, since I’ve only been in two serious relationships in my life.  I just thought I would write a blog about something I realized, or perhaps learned, this last week after interacting with my sister and her boyfriend. I realized love grows with an everyday positive interaction. Love is about having fun… it isn’t so complicated like I thought it was. Love is about making each other laugh, walking together holding each other’s hands… or not, but still turning around to find each other’s eyes and smile. Love is service. We love those who we serve and do good things for. Helping one another and being there for one another not only on those extreme, adverse situations, but also on those not-so-complex issues of everyday life.  As we hiked up the mountain, and I saw him pushing her back so she could advance quicker and lighter through the difficult incline, I realized that love is just that… simple gestures of love towards each other. I was surprised at how much fun they had with each other just telling jokes, talking, recalling good memories. Love doesn’t have to be complicated as we sometimes make it to be. Love doesn’t mean we have to have long, serious conversations about goals and life every single night; it’s more about finding happiness in sharing time together. Love is that gentle kiss that no one else sees, but that you feel and capture and hold close to your heart. Love is simple.
